A mango, raspberry, banana and orange smoothie with chia raspberry jam to kick-start the day.

I’ve had the stylish Kenwood kMix blender in my kitchen over the last few weeks and have enjoyed coming up with recipes to test it out. It's grunty but surprisingly quiet!

MANGO SMOOTHIE WITH RASPBERRY CHIA JAM

Makes 4 smoothies

INGREDIENTS

Raspberry Chia Jam
1 cup frozen raspberries
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional)
2 tablespoons of chia seeds

Smoothie
2 bananas, sliced
½  cup frozen raspberries
Flesh of 1 mango, cubed
Juice of 1 orange
2 cups milk (or almond milk if you prefer)

METHOD

Place the raspberries, water and maple syrup in a pot over a low heat and stir until raspberries have defrosted. If your raspberries are still whole, either mash them with the back of a spoon or remove for heat and blitz in a blender for 20 seconds. Stir in the chia seeds, pour into a jar and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Place the bananas, raspberries, mango, orange juice and milk in a blender and blitz until smooth and creamy.

Smear chia jam around the inside of your glass, pour in the smoothie and serve.
