STICKY GINGER & HOISIN CHICKEN

This is one of those meals that hardly requires a recipe but friends and family frequently ask for it. Serve drumsticks with sticky rice and steamed greens.

Serves 4

INGREDIENTS

8 waitoa free range chicken drumsticks
½ cup hoisin sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce
¼ teaspoon ground garlic powder
1 tablespoons fresh grated ginger
1 red chilli, finely chopped
1 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds

METHOD

In a large bowl, combine all ingredients apart from the sesame seeds. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours. 

Heat oven to 190ºC and line a baking tray with baking paper. 

Place chicken on the lined baking tray and bake for 35-40 minutes or until cooked through and golden. Turn drumsticks over half way through cooking and baste with any remaining marinade.
